History Of JEE :

The AIEE(All India Engineering Entrance Examination) was Initiated In the year 2002 it is all india examination Conducted  by National Testing Agency in the month of April 2002 But Later It was Renamed to JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) in April 2013.

What Is JEE Mains?

JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) Mains was Formerly known as  AIEE(All India Engineering Entrance Examination).This Examination was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education till 2018 Later From 2019 it was conducted by National Testing Agency.

JEE Mains is applicable for admission to various undergraduate Engineering and Architecture courses Specially in IITs(Indian Institute of Technology) , NITs(National Institute of Technology) and CFTIs(Central Funded Technical Institutes).

Required Criteria to Participate in JEE Mains:

The Candidate Should have Secured at least 75% in Class 12th Board Examinations .For SC/ST Candidates should have secured at least 65% marks in Class 12th Examinations.

For BE/Btech ---Candidate should have passed Physics,Mathematics as compulsory subjects and chemistry as vocational subjects in Class 12th.

For B Arch ---Candidates should have passed  Mathematics, Physics ,Chemistry in Class 12th .

For B Planning ---Candidates should have passed Mathematics in Class 12th .

Nationality :

Candidate Should be Citizen Of India.

For the People Who Belong to the Category Of Non-Resident of India(NRI) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are also eligible to apply For JEE Mains Examination But they need to provide Their category certificate  at all stages of Examination.

Structure Of Examination:

As of 2021 National Testing Agency has Introduced New Examination Pattern For BTech,B Arch,B Planning.the new JEE Mains exam pattern is divided into:

1).Paper 1

2).Paper 2

Paper 1 is for Btech/BE and Paper 2 is for B Arch,B Planning.

Every Subject Consists of  20 MCQs and 10 Numerical Value Questions and out of 10 only 5  to be Answered.

According to New JEE Mains Exam pattern 2021 examination will be conducted in CBT(Computer Based Test) Except Drawing for B Arch

For them separate Drawing sheet and OMR Sheet will be given to the candidates in the Examination Hall .National testing agency JEE Mains will be conducted in four sessions in the year i.e February,March,April,May. For paper 1 and paper2  candidates.

Number  Of Attempts In JEE Mains:

Candidates will get 3 attempts in JEE Mains and 2 attempts for JEE Advanced.

In order to get admission in the states like Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Gujarat and Odisha institutions, therefore the number of attempts and age limit will be similar to the previous practices of their respective state-level examinations.

JEE Mains Counselling:

JEE Mains Counselling Process  will be started in the month of June with the respected year.Joint Seat Allocation Authority is responsible for the Counselling Process .The counselling Process is based on the All India Rank obtained by the Candidates in the JEE Mains Entrance Examination 

Candidates need to be noted that JEE Mains rank card is only applicable for admission in NIT,IIT,CFTI institutions.

JEE Mains Reservation of Seats For Backward Classes:

JEE Mains reservation of seats will be organized by the Examination body.

Based on reservation criteria seats will be allocated to particular institutions.The reservation criteria will be applicable only for SC/ST, OBC candidates.

The categories:

1.Scheduled Castes

2.Other Backward Classes only for NCL

3.Person with Disability 40% or more

4.Scheduled Tribes

5.Economically Weaker Section

Category Wise reservation:

1. OBC NCL   - 27%

2.SC               - 15%

3.ST               - 7.5%

4.EWS           - 10%

5.PWD           - 5%

JEE Mains Seat Allotment:

JEE Mains Seat Allotment results will be released by the Joint seat Allocation Authority. Joint Seat Allocation Authority Is responsible for Seat Allotment.

After Checking Seat Allotment results Candidate needs to choose 3 Important Options

1.Freeze

2.Float

3.Slide

1.Freeze:

Candidates who are Selecting this Option will be Considered as Confirming the Seat Allocated these people need to pay seat acceptance fee for confirming.

Seat acceptance fee to be payed net banking/E-challan 45000rs for non reserved category and Rs 20000 for reserved Category

Verification of documents will be done in online

These Candidates are not eligible for further rounds of seat allotment

2.Float :

If Candidate is not happy with the existing seat Seat Allotment they can       select Float  Option and pay acceptance fee

The Allocated seat to the candidate will not be cancelled until they get better seat allotment in further rounds

3.Slide :  

Float and Slide will be not available for all candidates this will be available only for the candidates who have not allocated seat in their first choices

Note that these options will not be available at the last round of counselling.
